Similar to the Green Lizard but tends to be found in warmer, drier places. It is often found near rivers and can even sometimes be seen swimming. They live near bushes where they can quickly hide if felt threatened.

It mainly feeds on insects and other small invertebrates but will also sometimes take fruit, small lizards and mice.
Breeding
Females usually lay 10-20 eggs. They mate in spring.
