Size
The record sized specimen was 260 cm long, but the average size is 150 to 200 cm long. It's one of the largest European snakes, very similar size to the Aesculapian snake.
Venom
The Blotched snake is a non venomous snake but will bite if felt threatened.
Habitat
It's mainly found in places with thin forests and bushes or with steppe vegetation, where it prefers hollows. It also enters the edges of marshes while looking for nests of birds.
Diet
They are mainly active threw out the day and will look for food which are eggs and the young of birds, they will also eat rodents in the summer and autumn.
Breeding
Females usually lay 4-14 eggs pet clutch. They breed in May-June.
