Size
Although they are small and thin, growing up to a meter long, surprisingly they have the most painful bite out of all the Bulgarian reptiles
Venom
They are non venomous, but can be very aggressive and there bite is extremely painful
Habitat
They can be found in dry, stony or rocky environments with sparse grass and shrubs. They are commonly found in walls of ordinal stone.
Diet
It's a fast-moving snake, doing its activities by day. It mainly feeds on lizards and small rodents.
Breeding
Their breeding period is in May/June. Females usually lay around 3-16 eggs per clutch and the young hatch in August and September.
