Information
Rarity: Very common
Size
It's an averaged sized snake growing up to a meter long, females tend to be larger then males.
Venom
The Dice snake is a non-venomous species and does not bite. If felt threatened instead of biting, just like grass snakes they will release a horrible smell, in my opinion it's even worse then the grass snakes.
Habitat
The Dice Snake is one of the most common snake species in Bulgaria. They are water snakes and will spend most of there time in or around water.
Diet
They mainly feed on fish but will sometimes, but rarely eat frogs as well.
Breeding
During the mating season (March–April–May) they congregate in large groups. Egg laying is usually in July, and one clutch consists of 10-30 eggs. The young snakes hatch in early September.
