Size
It is the largest lizard species in Bulgaria growing up to a shocking 150 cm long! It is a legless lizard and quite a lot of people mistake it for a snake.
Habitat
Usually found in dry places, often rocky hill - sides with some cover, light woods and dry stone walls. It is active threw out the day but does not like hot weather and will usually come out late afternoon.
Diet
They mainly feed on insects but will also eat small mice, spiders, and eggs of other reptiles.
Breeding
They usually breed in late summer, females will lay 6-10 eggs.
