Size
It is one of the largest European snakes growing up to a maximum length of 2 meters long.
Venom
It is mildly venomous, so be mindful if around this snake as it has an extremely painful bite and will cause irritations such as: painful swellings, extreme headaches and sometimes vomiting.
Habitat
They are usually found in dry, rocky areas with lots of vegetation and prey around.
Diet
They mainly feed on reptiles, including other snakes but will also sometimes eat small rodents and birds.
Breeding
Males take part in combats with each other in the breeding season. Females lay 4-20 eggs per clutch.
